LinkedIn Campaign Manager is LinkedIn's advertising platform for building, targeting, and reporting on ad campaigns. It's also called LinkedIn Ads Manager or LinkedIn Ad Manager; all three names point to the same tool. Every LinkedIn ad gets created, budgeted, and measured here, the same role Google Ads plays for search campaigns.

What Can You Do in LinkedIn Campaign Manager?

LinkedIn Campaign Manager runs the full lifecycle of a LinkedIn ad in one dashboard. You build the audience, pick an objective and ad format, set a budget and bid, launch the campaign, and pull performance reports without leaving the platform. LinkedIn advertising in general works this way, one tool covering setup through reporting, rather than separate tools for each step.

LinkedIn Campaign Manager Objectives

LinkedIn Campaign Manager groups every objective into three funnel stages.
Funnel stage | Objectives
Awareness | Brand awareness
Consideration | Website visits, engagement, video views
Conversion | Lead generation, website conversions, job applicants
Pick the objective that matches what you actually want measured, not just what you want to happen. A lead generation objective optimizes delivery toward people likely to submit a form. A website visits objective optimizes toward clicks, not submissions, and will show worse form conversion even with identical creative.

LinkedIn Ads Account Structure

Every account is organized into three levels.
Level | What it controls
Campaign Group | Groups related campaigns under one umbrella, useful for organizing by product line, region, or quarter.
Campaign | Sets the objective, audience, budget, schedule, and bid strategy for that campaign.
Ad | The individual creative running inside a campaign. You can run several ad variations per campaign.

How to Access LinkedIn Campaign Manager

Go to linkedin.com/campaignmanager while logged into your personal LinkedIn profile. You need to be added as a user on an existing ad account, or create a new one, which requires admin rights on a LinkedIn Page.

What Campaign Manager Costs

Campaign Manager itself is free to use. You only pay for ad spend, based on the bid and budget you set at the campaign level. There's no software fee or subscription for the platform itself.

A Common Setup Mistake

New accounts often run every campaign inside a single campaign group with no naming convention. Once more than three or four campaigns are live, this makes budget tracking and reporting slow, since there's no way to filter by product line or quarter at a glance. Set up separate campaign groups and a naming convention before launching your first campaign, not after ten campaigns are already running together.

Common Questions About LinkedIn Campaign Manager

What is LinkedIn Campaign Manager and why should I use it?

It's LinkedIn's ad platform, the only place you can build, launch, and report on a LinkedIn ad. You need it to run any paid campaign on LinkedIn; there's no alternative interface for it.

How do you access LinkedIn Campaign Manager?

Go to linkedin.com/campaignmanager and log in with your personal LinkedIn profile. You need an assigned role on an ad account before you can see any campaign data.

How much does LinkedIn Campaign Manager cost?

Nothing for the platform itself. You pay only for the ad spend on the campaigns you run inside it, set at whatever bid and budget you choose.

How do you add a user to LinkedIn Campaign Manager?

Go to Account Settings inside the ad account, then Manage Access. Add the person by name or email and assign a role: full account management, campaign-level management, creative-only access, or view-only access to reports.

What ad formats are available in LinkedIn Campaign Manager?

Sponsored Content, Message Ads, Conversation Ads, Text Ads, and Dynamic Ads all launch from Campaign Manager, and each one attaches to whichever objective you've chosen.

How do you measure campaign performance in Campaign Manager?

The reporting dashboard breaks results down by campaign, ad, and demographic at no extra cost, showing clicks, spend, cost per result, and conversions against whatever objective the campaign was built around.

How fast can I expect results?

Most clients see performance stabilize by month three. Google Ads isn’t a slot machine—it takes time to compound.

Do you require long-term contracts?

No. We work month-to-month. All we ask is that you give us three months to prove the results.

Do you only run Google Ads?

While Google Ads is our entry point, we also support LinkedIn Ads, Reddit, and X campaigns when needed.

What’s included in your CRO audit, and what’s expected from our side?

The CRO audit covers your landing pages, CTAs, forms, and overall user flow. We’ll flag what’s holding back conversions and recommend fixes. If changes require design or dev resources, we’ll hand over clear action steps for your team, so you know exactly what to adjust.

How do you work with internal teams?

We integrate directly. Whether it’s syncing with your PMM on messaging, your design team on creative assets, or RevOps on tracking, we plug into existing workflows so we’re aligned and moving fast.

How do you handle Google rep recommendations that don’t fit our goals?

As an ex-Googler, I know which recommendations are useful, and which are just there to hit Google’s internal targets. We’ll filter their advice for you, implementing only what actually helps us hit revenue goals.

What changes in your approach to ads in B2B vs. B2C?

For B2B, I focus on lead quality, longer sales cycles, and nurturing conversions across the funnel. For B2C, speed and volume matter more, so I optimize for quick wins and scalable growth. Either way, the playbook adapts to your model.

What do your weekly reports include, and how do you define “good” vs. “scalable”?

Weekly reports show spend, conversions, CPL/CPA, and how we’re tracking against projections. “Good” means campaigns are meeting efficiency targets. “Scalable” means we can push budget and expect the same or better efficiency without breaking ROI.
